Local hotels, pubs & restaurants

You won't have trouble finding a great hotel for your stay. Crickhowell is blessed with great choices. Equally if its a restaurant for a meal or you want to watch the sport at one of our local pubs we have plenty to choose from. Below you'll find a few to choose from and if you need a taxi to or from your venue then please give us a ring.

The Bear Hotel

A former coaching inn, The Bear at Crickhowell has been welcoming guests for 500 years and still extends the same warmth, comfort, cosy atmosphere, good food and wide selection of drinks as ever before.

You can eat and drink with friendly locals in the historic bar – with its oak beams, wooden floors and open fires – or in the more intimate settings of our restaurants. In the summer, we’ll serve you in our beautiful gardens, surrounded by fragrant flowers and shaded by trees.

Guests can stay in oak-beamed rooms just as stagecoach passengers did or in more modern suites, some with spa baths.

All of this in the charming town of Crickhowell, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, yet just over two hours from London and around an hour from Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea or Birmingham.

The Manor Hotel

Ideal for families and children, whether you are planning to chill out or venture into the mountains, or try some outdoor activities, our own leisure facilities are there to entertain you no matter what the weather is doing.

All you have to do is to choose to rest and relax, or get energetic, to recharge your batteries. We have the only indoor heated leisure pool (7.3m by 3.6m) in the area, with a sauna, a gym, Jacuzzi, and steam room at your disposal.

Situated in possibly the most beautiful valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park, on the fringes of the pretty and sophisticated market town of Crickhowell, the views here are outstanding. The family owned Manor hotel sits at the foot of the ancient fortress, Table Mountain.

With 23 individually styled bedrooms, The Manor's interior is honest, friendly and welcoming to all. Whether you're planning an outdoor activity break on the mountains, water or in the air, our facilities are ideally suited to help you rest, recharge and recover.

Our bistro restaurant overlooks the valley and the river Usk and its a great place for an informal lunch with friends, a snack in our bar or a sumptuous dinner as the evening sun goes down. Food is everything to us, only fresh, tasty, local and seasonal features on our menus. Many of our ingredients come directly from the family farm just seven miles down the road – that’s what we call local.

We think our hotel is the perfect Welsh getaway - come rain or shine, whatever you want to do, The Manor provides the ideal, affordable break in a clean, green, fresh, natural environment.

The Dragon Inn

The historic Dragon Inn is an old hostelry located on Crickhowell High Street. It is family owned and great care is taken to make sure all our guests are made welcome and are able to experience all that Crickhowell and Wales has to offer. The hotel is a 4 Star visit Wales Inn, has 15 en-suite rooms and a Restaurant & Bar serving traditional & Welsh dishes all day long. The bar & restaurant area is a comfortable and relaxing place to wind down or just enjoy the atmosphere, and has earned a great reputation for serving local, good value, quality food of a high standard. All of our rooms have been recently re-furbished, making them arguably the best rooms available in such a central location in Crickhowell. We also have family rooms available for larger parties, ideal for families looking for accommodation central to all amenities and with enough space for 4-6 people to stay together.
